Broken
You used to be right here
beside me
here in my life.
I felt your hand suddenly
slip away,
But I always thought that you would
find your way back to me.
So now here I am
the emptiness of my arms
echoed only by the
blank noise in my heart.
It is for the best;
start a new life, they say.
How can I? When I don't
even know who I am
without you.
So I sit here trying
trying to make sense of
my existence.
These hands
are they really mine?
My hair seems so
light without your hands
your hands running through it.
Everything is different now.
Everything is streaked and
stained.
Like a broken bottle
the shards are gone
but the stain you left
remains.

In my previous home, I used to have a wall-hanger right above the entrance door which had the picture of a cat with a slightly open door and with the words "If God closes one door, he opens another". I am sure he has similar plans for you.

I don't know if you have ever noticed, but the world is actually a happy place to be in, if you want it to be, that is. @anonymous: even though i don't know about god, but yes, another door surely is open.
